| One barbeque doesn't make a summer |
[Jun. 11th, 2006|09:56 pm]
|
Today we had our first barbeque, manly some sausages and burgers that had been lurking in the freezer.
Yesterday the medical students who live next door were in the garden practicing for their oral medical exams. The subject seemed to be heart valves - I didn't stay out there too long. |

| EDF - Helping the environment or not |
[Jun. 10th, 2006|10:01 am]
|
Just received my electricity bill. The envelope says it "has been designed so we work together to help the environment. You can re-use it .....". They would help the environment more if they could print the bill on 1 page rather than 3 and didnt send loads of crappy leaflets :-) |

| "X is not supported" |
[Jun. 4th, 2006|07:40 am]
|
I get rather annoyed when I get a reply "X is not supported". The semantics of this might be
- X will destroy your machine so dont do it - X will work but be incompatible with Y - X will work but will have some minor features that migh annoy you (so don't raise help desl calls) - We havent the fogiest idea whether X will work and can't be bothered to try it - X will work fine but the help desk don't understand it so don't call us about it. - There is a licensing reason why you cant do X |
